Hallo,

(I've got the book - great pictures, unbelievable details within all pictures. It is worth to have a look).

Many thanks for your kind comments Michael - I'm glad you liked the book :smile

My next book is called "The Doomsday Tablet" - "Die Weltuntergangs-Tafel". Of course I would welcome all comments and suggestions for the book and its translation into German.

I also wondered whether anybody would be interested in having their avatar or custom klicky as an 'extra' in the book? I can accomodate klickies in the following costumes: - present day (20th century), roman citizens, soldiers and barbarians (2nd century), circa 1910 (Victorian / Edwardian). I would probably run a competition to choose the best ones. Do you like this idea?

A friend has kindly translated the above for me: -

I've got quite a few crowd scenes I need to customize, and although I find PlaymoDB indispensable (!), I thought it would be handed to have a gallery of all the bare-headed hair/wig styles Geobra have producted.

I've therefore started work - it may not be totally comprehensive yet, but you can see the gallery at:-

http://www.thomasswiftproductions.co.uk ... d-ends.php

Set numbers are definitely not comprehensive, but enough to do furuther research on PlaymoDB. The newest styles coming out this year in Germany are included.

Just click on the "Playmobil Hair" link

I've now totally revamped the hair / wig gallery for bare-headed klickies, using my own photos where possible:-

At 03 February, I ordered the book online on the website. Today it was in the mail.
I've browsed through so far only a little. But what I've seen so far is really great.
I thank Nick for the quick delivery and great communication!

I will come to read my move to the first well.

That's great Björn - hope you like the rest of the book!

If anybody else would like the "Der Grune Mann", I'm also open to trades - new stuff in Germany, or accessories I need for my next book :wink

I've seen that some people are reselling the English version of my book - "The Green Man" on Amazon for £87 or £90. I just wanted to say more copies of the book will be available later in the year, so don't break your piggy banks!

I've received devastating news for my book and future adventures of Thomas Swift. Playmobil have said I am breaching their copyright and have asked me to stop selling the book. They're happy for me to continue publishing the book and future books on-line or in print - just as long as I do not sell them. My suggestion for them to License the books came to nothing. They obviously do not think my book or images are harmful, but do not like the fact that I was trying to make this commercially viable.

The news is devastating as I have invested many years and a lot of money on the books, on the basis I could recover the costs. Instead it's turned out to be a very expensive hobby which is hard to justify to my family. I have now returned to full time employment and it makes it unlikely that the sequel - "The Doomsday Tablet" will ever be produced.

The way forward for "The Green Man" is for it to be available freely on-line - I will have more news about this soon. I hope people who have bought the printed or electronic copy will not be disapointed: they have a rare and collectable item. Apologies to those who were awaiting a reprint of the English edition.

If you would like to see more books printed and sequels, you know who to ask!

Lieber Nick,

Dear Nick,

I think so really not nice. And I was so looking forward to a new story, as the old one was already great!

Should you decide not to bring a new story out, I am one that would like to have it, but if it's in German.

I hope you still find a solution to the Probelm. I wish you much success when further on your way!

Best regards Björn

Many thanks Björn for your kind words. I certainly hope to do more with Thomas Swift, but I think it will have to be on a much smaller scale - but I'll still aim to have whatever I do translated, and maybe into Spanish too. At the moment I'm enjoying myself adapting "The Green Man" to go on-line - together with "Der Grune Mann" and "L'homme en vert".

I was afraid that this could happen and now it did :sad . Playmobil always intervenes if pictures with Playmobil are used in a novel/comic and so on. It´s not even clear if they have the right to do so- but who is able to fight against such a big company :huh ...
So we have to live with licensed garbage like the Playmobil-magazin instead of fantastic books/comics etc.

Hello nick,
bad news really, but how about abandoning your plans of making money with your hobby and instead placing your story into a good internet forum like KLICKYWELT or FUNTASTIC PLASTIC as do I for myself?
I'm sure anybody would be happy if you choose to do it this way!

Maybe you think about it......?

I certainly have plans for making "The Green Man" available on-line (and quite soon!), but it may be through my own website or Youtube, rather than a forum. There's also another more 'Playmobil' space where it will be featured, but that's being negotiated so I don't want to say too much about it. Having been a very prolific forum member (on Playmoboard) I do appreciate the Forums, but want the book available to as many people as possible - including non-Playmo fans and children :)

My disapointment however is also because Geobra's decision has killed off what I wanted to do in life. "The Doomsday Tablet", which was fully scripted and sketched.
