SCHAPER pirates, 2 sets need info
for the time being these are the last 2 ghosts.
they "exist" only on 2 Department Stores christmas catalogues.
SEARS in 1982 and 1983, set number 49-59993
JC PENNEY in 1980, set number 923-7926
In both cases these are versions of the 3750 Piratenschiff.
Thank you.

If you think that Scaper made exckusive sets never existed think again.
This is a SEARS exclusive.
The odd reference appears in the top right corner of the box.

Re: SCHAPER pirates, 2 sets need info
Hi,
I think you mean to say there could be a 3550 v3 Sears version.
I have never seen such a Sears packaging. Unfortunately US toyshop catalogs seldom display the packaging.
So we just have to wait till one appears. I also never saw a Schaper v1 packaging 1978-1979 either, how could that be?
Regards,
Playmorache

Re: SCHAPER pirates, 2 sets need info
hello playmorache.
i meant 3550 instead of 3750, of course.
i imagine tha these sets, if they actually exist, must be very similar to the "official" SCHAPER version, the 0104.
that would be a V.1, actually, with hands in the same color as the torsos.
the 0104 is from 1980, called just 104 in SCHAPER catalogues, SUPER DELUXE PIRATE SHIP.

Re: SCHAPER pirates, 2 sets need info
If you look in this discussion:
http://www.klickywelt.de/viewtopic.php? ... ow#p751002
You see in the 1979 Schaper katalog a display of all the old schaper boxes:
Left under you see an old box version of the 3550 (what i would call v1)
Did you ever see that one?
Regards,
Bert

The pirate ship 104 does exist (which was already answered in that thread Playmorache was mentioning) and for the first time could be ordered via the price list of 1979. The price was USD 19,95. The 104 was offered on Ebay more than a year ago.cachalote hat geschrieben:hello playmorache.

Re: SCHAPER pirates, 2 sets need info
several things...
the shcaper catalogue shws what seems to be a different 3550 box.
this one looks like the other ones schaper made on those days.
but, can we be sure this box actually exists?
maybe it was done only for ordering purposes in 79 and then, when it was finally released, the design is what i show in klickypedia.
does anyone have aother image of this box "outside" this catalogue?
there's also a mexican 3550 in the begining of the thread.
it looks like an unknown version.
aurimat?
mattel?
all that is certain is that the catalogue is written in spanish.
can we be sure of its origin.
if so, can a picture of the box for this mexican 3550 set be found?
one answer brought more questions.
actually, not an answer, but more info.
the sears and jc penney are still ghosts with other 2 new ones now.

Re: SCHAPER pirates, 2 sets need info
HELP...
Collecting is all about having lots of patience...
If it those versions exist, they will appear some day.
Maybe Eddy has a better picture of the old version for you from one of his catalogs...
Nice initiative , your klickypedia.

Playmorache

Re: SCHAPER pirates, 2 sets need info
klickypedia was not my initiative.
it was yoye's, a spanish collector.
maybe you know him from playclicks.
he had this dream of registering all playmobil sets in one giant multilingual platform that people could not only use but also colaborate.
i decided to help with the pirates theme. my "speciality".
i was in the process of listing my collection (one thing you can use klickypedia for) and decided that it wouldn't be to much trouble making available to everyone.
searching for better images of some sets i kept discovering new versions form foreign markets.
and so "hell" started.
playmobil collector book doesn't list all the sets.
playmobil official databases have different info between themselves (sets and catalogues) and no images of the boxes, little is known of distant markets like brazil, etc.
but it's a funny hell and i discovered that i could list all the sets i knew with the warning that some, like these schaper, have an existence not yet confirmed.
if you so desire, you can become a member and help.
and you can create a list of what you have, what you miss, what you desire.
it's a cool place.
