SEARS new (kind of) sets

in 1991 SEARS department store shows in its Christmas catalogues some playmobil sets.
None of them is new but the combinations are.

49-C-15451-usa - pirate raft and barrel set
joining 3791 and 3793

joining 3792 and 3794

I imagine the success wasn't great because the next year SEARS joins even more sets in just one ref.

i have no indication on how these ref.s were joined - if a new and different exclusive box was created or if it was just a wrapping device or even if there was nothing at all joining the sets.
does anybody have a clue?
